Statement from Commissioner Sean Morrison

STATEMENT FROM COMMISSIONER SEAN MORRISON

Orland Park, IL - First, let me thank the voters of the 17th District for their strong support of my re-election and for acknowledging my record of fighting for fiscal responsibility, strong public safety measures, and improving the quality of life for the residents and families of the 17th District.

With the struggles facing our country and Cook County, I will continue to stand on my pragmatic principles of limited government, lower taxes, and finding responsible, common-sense solutions to our county's problems. I will also remain committed to challenging the 'soft on crime' policies that have endangered communities and families across Cook County.

The results of Tuesday's election demonstrates that the residents of the 17th District want an independent voice serving them on the county board. Since 2015, I have represented our district as a true independent voice standing up for suburban Cook County. I was the only commissioner to vote against Defunding the Police. I voted "No" on pay increases for Cook County Board members. I am the only commissioner who has consistently challenged Toni Preckwinkle's tax and spend policies, and the dangerous and reckless, 'soft on crime' policies of Kim Foxx.

I look forward to serving the residents of the Cook County 17th District for the next four years and I look forward to continuing to work to solve the issues facing our county, and representing residents as a common sense, independent voice.
